Rumah Dara (2010)

Rumah Dara or Macabre was likely to be one of 'worth-to-watch-indonesian-movies' in 2010. Don't worry there will be no spoiler here, I wont crap about the stories and things. Just want to complain comment on some specific scenes.

I was late for about 10 minutes, I watched it from the scene where they all having dinner. We (my friends and I) were like 'ah what the fak so boring la who the hell is he' or whatever. So yeah no comment about the beginning scenes. I was enjoying the scenes when they started to cut and slice them, instead of being scared watching such scenes, I was evil-laughing hard. I discovered that I have this sense of satisfaction when the quiet fat man was cutting the head! Well, I mean they looked funny. They did not look THAT scary. Especially Daanish as Dara, who tried to manipulate her voice to be very 'low', was like a major fail. I know other reviews are commented on that too!

One of my favourite scene was the girl in red, I don't remember her name (I don't remember all the names to be exact) when she was chasing after 3 muskeeters people-whos-head-going-to-be-sliced-off who tried to run away from that house and that girl in red was using bow and arrow to shoot them. I like her red dress and her shoes! Compared it with Dara's shoes, come on man it was too modern for a 1889's! I mean, what the hell? Why don't she wear a pair of t-strap mary-jane?

look at it, isn't the heel could crush your eye(s) enough?

Overall, I think this movie is just a comedy for me. I laughed most of the time. From Julie Estelle's fugly face like after she got several punches, Daanish's 'low' voice, that robotic boy (I forgot his real name too) who had 9 souls I mean the difficulty to kill him was legendary, Aming's scared face, Dara's sadako scene and etcetera. Except for the other 2 killers, no (other) comment for the girl in red and that quiet fat man. In addition, I like the house, vintage! Especially those deers' heads hanging on the walls! and the camera!

3 thumbs up for the jokes movie.

where the wild things are (2009)

So finally after long time waiting - hoping that this movie will be released on theatres but NO. I've been waiting for it but NO there's no sign that this movie will ever be in theatres. So yeah I bought the DVD, watched the first few minutes and found out the (first part of) movie was what the fuck so boring, it was just about a boy ignored by his sister. BUUUUT now I have time to watch it till the end of the movie! And its amazing, well if you compared the effects with avatar of course avatar has more complicated effects. But... when I was watching this, I was wondering if I could touch or even HUG the wild things although they're a bit 'stiff'. I mean, they're like, real, instead of teletubbies with 'evil' inside. LOL if you know what I mean. No? Fine. Don't read. I'm serious.

I don't really like to tell stories here. You could just read the story line on wikipedia, right? Oh well then. Move on. the soundtrack! by KAREN O AND THE KIDS!! (and I regret that I couldnt watch yeah yeah yeahs concert in Singapore, dont know when but its over already!) She's just amazingly amazing. I recommend the song 'Igloo' (although she wasn't really sing but I like!) and 'All Is Love' :)

I believe that the book is cooler than the movie. Especially for the timeline-problem. In the movie, Max gone for a few days and he sailed to the island 'where the wild things are' and there's no any sign whether it was just his imagination or he is really gone for a few days. While in the book, (I didn't read the book but how do I know this?) Max went into his room and met with the 'wild things' and when it's 'over' it was still the same day (I believe so, dont you think the same thing as me?).

Soooo yeah. I guess I could only give 4 out of 5, for the perfect scenes that never fail to make me goes 'WOW' and the perfections of the clowns wild things. Cheers for Carol and Max. I wish that I could have a realisation of my imaginations too. Enough said. LETS GO WILD RUMPUS STAR!
