Hello, another movie review, again. Please bear with me! So have you watch Toy Story 3? One of the you-have-to-watch-it-or-you'll-regret movies! So it's like, finally I write a review on a good & worth-to-watch movie here *evil laugh* Anyway, I remembered that I had watch Toy Story and Toy Story 2 but I forget the stories because of this short-term memory that I have since I was a kid. Seriously.
Anyway, so the story is about Andy who is going to college and he has been abandoned his toys for a long time. He decides to bring Woody along while the rest he's gonna put it in the attic. But then the toys think that Andy is going to throw them as when they try to escape they find themselves outside the house ah well, misunderstanding. Yada yada yada. So they end up in Sunnyside, a child care. There are a lot of new characters like Lotso, Ken, Big Baby (the scariest character here, I think) and many more, like green version of kamen rider :))
So I really enjoy watching Toy Story 3. The humour (like Buzz speaks Spanish and fall in love with Jessie, well I found it funny), the graphics that look shiny and really fresh *duh pardon my language* and of of course the sad parts. HAHA. Yeah I cried. But nobody noticed that I cried because of the 3D glasses until I told my friend about it. It's really touchy. All pixar movies are touchy, isn't it :D
Well of course, 5 out of 5 for Toy Story 3. I wanna watch this again!
Yo, I'm back with another movie review! I'm too busy doing never-ending bloody homework. And now it's Sad-turday, I'm at home, writing this review and seems like I'm gonna spend my day to do homework. YEAHFML.
Skip that! So this is the latest movie I've watched on cinema (slap me 'cause I'm too lazy to watch on dvd, in the end TV is just for watching stupid Indonesian dramas *read: sinetron*) and SATC 2 is.. crap. It is zo boring until acnes grew on my butt (pardon my lameness). To be honest I have not watch the first one so I kinda lost and thanks to my friend who told me who is this guy and who is that guy. So okay, the movie is about Carrie Bradshaw and her friends (OH COME ONE WHO ELSE) having a week holiday in Abu Dhabi. Before that she had arguments with her husband, Mr.Big, over a one-and-a-half-year-waiting couch and TV, and need two days break in a week. Yada yada yada. Boring right? You can say that this movie is like a compilation of advertisements of branded stuffs. Those branded stuffs that make you drools. Louboutins, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Hermes' birkins.. (but one of my twitter mate spotted it looks fake 'cause the handles seem too long.)
>:( >:( envy envy envy!
and I guess their outfits are being too much for holiday in desert, no? Oh yeah and also the duration is a bit too long (like I told you, till acnes grew on my butt) some scenes are still left untold and the conflicts end with too simple way of solving it, well in my opinion and what I observed. 2 out of 5, one for some of the jokes are quite entertaining and one for a pity. Just kidding.
I was watching this movie with my campus-mates (errr...), planned to watch either Iron Man 2 (yes I haven’t watch the famous Iron Man 2, gosh!) or Robin Hood. So the one who bought the tickets chose Robin Hood since it is the latest movie. Though we all haven't watch Iron Man 2. Yadayadayada.
The movie is about this guy named Robin Longstride (and so he is the 'Robin Hood') who is an archer in the Crusade. Talking ‘bout Crusade, I keep on thinking, where’s Joan of Arc? Where’s Joan of Arc? Well she’s not there. Maybe in the different century or whatever it is, she’s not there. I don’t know, don’t ask me. I don’t know anything about history of England and France. Well I’m not a good story-teller so I guess if you wanna know the synopsis of the movie you could ask wikipedia.
The movie is quite boring, to be honest. Still don’t get what's the meaning ‘Robin Hood’, it is neither Robin's hood nor Hood of Robin nor the Robin Hood in green costume. Some of the scenes don’t make any sense to me, simply made the duration longer. Oh yeah talking about the duration, it is about 2 effin hours and my ass was so flat after that. Don’t bother to be afraid you’ll lose the best part of the movie when you have constipation or in the need to go to toilet. Well, I’m still looking for the best part of the movie. The part when Longstride says ‘I love you’ to Lady Marion is kinda disturbing, it would be better if he kisses her without saying the words. It’s quite awkward when I heard it, there's no such scene as look-at-his-eyes-he-falls-in-love-with-her. Furthermore, I think it would be muchhh better if it gives a little story about the orphans who live in forest. Please slap my face and tell me that I should make my own movie because I complained too much XD
I didn’t know that this movie is a prequel until I read arddhe’s review and I think he’s right about the cinematography, it’s great. You should read his review, sometimes I ask for his opinion about some movies before I watch it and warning, his reviews are brainwash-able. Haha. He didn’t pay me to write this. Overall, I give 2.5 out of 5, for the cinematography and Cate Blanchett.
Oh one more thing, I thought the one who play as King John was Russel Brand. Tee-hee!
I watched this movie a week ago, the 3D one. I went to the cinema a few hours earlier just to get the tickets, my friend, Alderina, even happier when I told her we got the front row, she said it's even more 3D-er when you watch it from the front. But I guess it is.. (with extra neck pain after that precisely!)So anyway, I guess this movie is more suitable for kids, it's like when to give it rating it's a G-rated. In fact, the cinema that day was packed with kids (that's just what I remember LOL)! Other than that, I made such conclusion because I could say the storyline is quite... yeah very clear, you could guess what's the ending from the start of the movie. It is like typically disney animations or those princesses' fairy-tales, well the difference is of course this movie isn't about fairy-tale. It is about Alice going back to Wonderland (won't give more story here, spoiler!).Really disappointed with the storyline, I was expecting something like the disney's version. Because of that, I could not take it when Mad Hatter is developing a quite close relationship with Alice. I thought Alice only meet him once at that tea party and that's it? But no. He follows Alice to anywhere to everywhere. Well since the story is taken from Through the Looking-Glass too, I could not complain more (I don't know the story so... yeah *cough*) or maybe I was just jealous of Alice because the Mad Hatter is Johnny Depp? :D Cinematography-wise and music-wise are quite impressive. Except the fact that Avril Lavigne is singing the single Alice(Underground)... the song is good but Avril Lavigne? Urgh hellooo? Paramore? or anyone else could do better! So I guess that's it.. Overall I give 3 out of 5. I recommend the song 'Alice Reprise #5' from the soundtrack of Alice in Wonderland! *jreng.. curtains closed*
Oh ya one more thing, Alderina said I look like Alice but I'm not angmo/bule/caucasian just because Alice and I are skinny (or thin), I guess she's blind! :p
Rumah Dara or Macabre was likely to be one of 'worth-to-watch-indonesian-movies' in 2010. Don't worry there will be no spoiler here, I wont crap about the stories and things. Just want to complain comment on some specific scenes.
I was late for about 10 minutes, I watched it from the scene where they all having dinner. We (my friends and I) were like 'ah what the fak so boring la who the hell is he' or whatever. So yeah no comment about the beginning scenes. I was enjoying the scenes when they started to cut and slice them, instead of being scared watching such scenes, I was evil-laughing hard. I discovered that I have this sense of satisfaction when the quiet fat man was cutting the head! Well, I mean they looked funny. They did not look THAT scary. Especially Daanish as Dara, who tried to manipulate her voice to be very 'low', was like a major fail. I know other reviews are commented on that too! One of my favourite scene was the girl in red, I don't remember her name (I don't remember all the names to be exact) when she was chasing after 3 muskeeters people-whos-head-going-to-be-sliced-off who tried to run away from that house and that girl in red was using bow and arrow to shoot them. I like her red dress and her shoes! Compared it with Dara's shoes, come on man it was too modern for a 1889's! I mean, what the hell? Why don't she wear a pair of t-strap mary-jane?
look at it, isn't the heel could crush your eye(s) enough?
Overall, I think this movie is just a comedy for me. I laughed most of the time. From Julie Estelle's fugly face like after she got several punches, Daanish's 'low' voice, that robotic boy (I forgot his real name too) who had 9 souls I mean the difficulty to kill him was legendary, Aming's scared face, Dara's sadako scene and etcetera. Except for the other 2 killers, no (other) comment for the girl in red and that quiet fat man. In addition, I like the house, vintage! Especially those deers' heads hanging on the walls! and the camera! 3 thumbs up for the jokes movie.
So finally after long time waiting - hoping that this movie will be released on theatres but NO. I've been waiting for it but NO there's no sign that this movie will ever be in theatres. So yeah I bought the DVD, watched the first few minutes and found out the (first part of) movie was what the fuck so boring, it was just about a boy ignored by his sister. BUUUUT now I have time to watch it till the end of the movie! And its amazing, well if you compared the effects with avatar of course avatar has more complicated effects. But... when I was watching this, I was wondering if I could touch or even HUG the wild things although they're a bit 'stiff'. I mean, they're like, real, instead of teletubbies with 'evil' inside. LOL if you know what I mean. No? Fine. Don't read. I'm serious.
I don't really like to tell stories here. You could just read the story line on wikipedia, right? Oh well then. Move on. the soundtrack! by KAREN O AND THE KIDS!! (and I regret that I couldnt watch yeah yeah yeahs concert in Singapore, dont know when but its over already!) She's just amazingly amazing. I recommend the song 'Igloo' (although she wasn't really sing but I like!) and 'All Is Love' :)I believe that the book is cooler than the movie. Especially for the timeline-problem. In the movie, Max gone for a few days and he sailed to the island 'where the wild things are' and there's no any sign whether it was just his imagination or he is really gone for a few days. While in the book, (I didn't read the book but how do I know this?) Max went into his room and met with the 'wild things' and when it's 'over' it was still the same day (I believe so, dont you think the same thing as me?).Soooo yeah. I guess I could only give 4 out of 5, for the perfect scenes that never fail to make me goes 'WOW' and the perfections of the clowns wild things. Cheers for Carol and Max. I wish that I could have a realisation of my imaginations too. Enough said. LETS GO WILD RUMPUS STAR!
